Samantha is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia, a Registered Play Therapist (RPT™), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Samantha is a PhD Candidate at George Washington University and provides outpatient play therapy to children at Acadian Health Center, a non-profit organization located in Haymarket, VA. Samantha earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Missouri Western State University and a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in children and adolescents from Northwestern University.
Samantha's recent research interests include adverse childhood experiences and child-centered play therapy, school counselor and school nurse collaboration to combat mental health in schools, along with trauma competency curriculum and development to better meet the needs of children.
